Sketches for found sculptures, 2010-12
Compositions of photography, drawing, 11 x 8.5cm (c-prints), 18 x 26cm (pen on paper), series of 24
While performing a series of exploratory wanderings around the city of Paris and later Bogota, different sculptural situations were meet by chance. Through a series of compositions I appropriate these temporal ‘accidents’, and present them as if they were interventions realized by me. Thus the photographs become the documentation of a ‘performed’ action; the drawings, a sort of preparatory annotations on how to carry out the found ‘interventions’; and the title a conceptual lens to frame both. Through these appropriations I explore the idea of how this situations came to be and what other meanings could they have. What other stories can the city be telling us if we stop to listen?
